Microphone · on-deviceLive BPM detection
Live BPM needs microphone access — iOS asks the first time you use it. If you declined, enable it under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Detection works best when the phone can hear the band clearly; the first stable estimate typically arrives within seconds and matures as more audio is heard. If the tempo locks at half or double the real value, use the octave correction control or tap the tempo a few times to re-anchor it.

Kongstronomen sends standard MIDI clock with start/stop to every connected destination. Class-compliant USB devices connect directly with a USB-C cable. For Bluetooth MIDI, pair using a Bluetooth MIDI utility app first — the connection then appears in Kongstronomen's device list automatically. Selected devices show as active connections in Settings → MIDI Clock.
Kick · snare · hi-hatSound and playback
Beat and accent sounds are chosen independently under Settings → Audio & Haptics — including Morten Sørgård's kick, snare, and hi-hat recordings. The metronome keeps playing with the screen locked. By default, playback pauses if headphones or an audio interface disconnect mid-song; this can be toggled under Audio routing.
Rehearsal flowSetlists
Build setlists in the Setlists tab, then use Start Set to run through a rehearsal — each song loads its tempo, meter, and accent pattern onto the stage screen. Everything is stored on your device.
